There are moments in life that feel like milestones…
and then there are moments that feel like alignment.
This is one of those moments.
I am proud to say that I have officially earned my Master of Science in Nursing with a specialization in Leadership & Administration.
But this achievement?
It’s so much deeper than a degree.
⸻
🌿 Life Was Lifing… And I Still Chose Me
This wasn’t a straight path.
There were years of going back and forth…
questioning if I should return to school…
wondering if the timing would ever be “right.”
Life was happening.
Responsibilities were real.
Motherhood, leadership, caregiving, building a business…
And still, the constant tug, the call:
“There’s more in you.”
So I answered it.
⸻
📚 The Sacrifice Behind the Success
The last year and a half stretched me in ways I didn’t even know were possible.
Late nights turned into early mornings.
Assignments turned into 7-page papers… 10-page papers… 15-page papers… 25-page papers.
Whew. 😅
At this point, I’m writing and sending text messages in APA 7 format like it’s my second language…
My TikToks are backed by scholarly articles and evidence-based practice (yes, really 😂).
But beyond the pages and formatting…
I developed discipline.
I refined my critical thinking.
I strengthened my voice as a leader.
This journey didn’t just educate me…
It transformed me.
⸻
💡 This Was For Me
Let me be clear…
This wasn’t for validation.
This wasn’t for titles.
This wasn’t even just for career advancement.
✨ This was for ME.
For the woman I am becoming.
For the leader I am stepping into.
For the calling placed on my life.
As a holistic nurse and advocate, I am called to do more than care, I am called to:
* Educate
* Uplift
* Restore balance
* Create systems that support whole-person wellness
Mentally. Physically. Emotionally. Spiritually. Environmentally.
Because it’s all connected.
⸻
🩺 From Bedside to Boardroom… With Purpose
Through this program, I didn’t just gain knowledge—I learned how to:
* Lead systems, not just participate in them
* Analyze gaps in care and implement solutions
* Use evidence-based practice to improve outcomes
* Advocate for patients and communities on a larger scale
Even in my academic work, I explored real-world challenges like infection prevention and quality improvement in dialysis care, reinforcing my commitment to safer, more effective patient outcomes .
This is what leadership looks like.
⸻
🌱 A Message to You
If you’re reading this and you’ve been:
* Putting off a goal
* Questioning your capacity
* Waiting for the “perfect time”
Let me lovingly tell you…
👉🏾 There is no perfect time. There is only your decision.
Do something for yourself.
Answer the call on your life.
Invest in your growth.
Be a lifelong learner.
Master the field you’ve been assigned to.
Walk boldly in your purpose.
Because what’s on the other side?
✨ Growth
✨ Confidence
✨ Alignment
✨ Transformation
⸻
🙏🏾 Closing Reflection
I’m not the same woman who started this journey…
And that’s the real reward.
To God be the glory for every tear, every sacrifice, every breakthrough.
This is only the beginning.
